Description
Here is an ultimate collector’s piece for the Jackson enthusiast. It might be another decade before you see one of these for sale. This is an unreleased prototype Jackson soloist/Dinky, made circa 1980/1981 even prior to the Jackson Randy Rhoads. Never released to the public. These were experimental prototypes that essentially were scrapped due to the heel being too large, and a decision was to just move to the neck through Soloists.
There were initially two prototypes made, then a batch of around 30 prototypes. They were sold and left the building usually unfinished as you see here. A few got factory finishes, but not many. Some have Kahlers, vintage trems, etc. but this one ultimately got a Floyd Rose FRT-3 Clone (Double Eagle) on it.
My guess is not many more than 15 exist these days, because ultimately, no one knows what they are – and they gets tossed out and lost in the “SOUNDS OF TIME” as I like to call it. Only very knowledgeable Jackson collectors know how to spot these.
